Chef Guru's Potato Curry with GoldDust Garam Masala and Curry Powder
Here is the quick, easy and delicious Potato Curry which is flavoured with just our spice blends! By combining the tastes of our Curry Powder and our GoldDust Garam Masala you'll end up with a rich, complex and medium spicy curry that is perfect all year round and doesn't require you scrambling through your cupboards for each individual spice. Get them both here! Once you have these spice blends, all you need to add is a little oil/ghee, potatoes and some tomatoes!
2 tablespoons neutral oil or ghee
500g potatoes, peeled and evenly chopped
2 tbsp Chef Guru's Curry Powder
1 400g can of tomatoes, blended
2 tbsp tomato puree
1 tbsp honey
Salt to taste
Coriander, chopped with stems (optional)
- Cook your potatoes: either add to a pot of cold water, bring to boil then wait 10 minutes, or cover with water and microwave for 10 minutes, until medium soft. Remove, drain and set aside.
- Heat oil/ghee in a hot pan. Add potatoes and Curry Powder, stir and let cook for 2 minutes, then add tomatoes and salt.
- After a few minutes, add tomato puree and honey, and give it a good stir. If the sauce is very thick, add some hot water to loosen up. Cover with a lid and allow to cook for 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and now add your GoldDust! One good final stir to mix the spices through the curry, then add your chopped coriander and pop the lid back on.
Ready to serve! Since this is real staple dish, we think this goes well with any accompaniment whether it's naan, roti, puri, rice... Enjoy!
